Flu Shot Clinic to be held at Huntington Beach Hospital
(Huntington Beach, CA) Huntington Beach Hospital will host an annual FREE drive-through flu shot clinic for the community on Saturday, October 10, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Main Entrance to the hospital located at 17772 Beach Boulevard, Huntington Beach. This vaccine is for the annual seasonal flu virus and not for the H1N1 flu virus. Vaccine provided by the Orange County Healthcare Agency with the following guidelines:
People 50 years of age and older / People 18-49 yrs of age who meet the following criteria:
- Have chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (expect hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematological, or metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitius).
- Have immunosuppression (including, that caused by medications or HIV)
- Are health-care personnel
- Are household contacts and caregivers of
- Children age 5 year and younger; especially contacts of children age less than 6 months
- Adults age 50 years and older,
- Persons with medical conditions described above.
We will not administer vaccine to persons under age 18 or those who are pregnant.
If you are allergic to eggs, chicken or feathers or if you have had a reaction to past flu serum you should not take this injection. If you are unsure, consult your physician.
